Key Responsibilities:
  • The core of this role is to actively generate new business by identifying prospects and reaching out to them via phone, email, and in-person interactions. This involves building and nurturing relationships with key decision-makers across various sectors.
  • Attending events, utilizing existing contacts, and leveraging networking opportunities will be crucial in creating a balanced pipeline of potential new clients.
  • You’ll need to be knowledgeable across multiple general insurance lines such as Combined Liability, Motor Fleet, Cyber, Professional Indemnity, D&O, and more. Delivering excellent customer service and conveying this knowledge will be essential in building trust with new prospects.
  • Effectively managing a pipeline of potential clients, tracking progress through a CRM or pipeline management tool, and meeting both short- and long-term financial goals will be a key responsibility.
  • You’ll work closely with the team, reporting on pipeline status and contributing to marketing campaigns to generate leads.
Candidate Profile:
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, sales-driven environment within the insurance industry is ideal. You'll need to have the resilience to handle the competitive nature of the role and a proven ability to meet sales targets.
  • Building rapport with clients is a major part of this role, so you must be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing. You’ll also need to demonstrate negotiation skills when dealing with clients and insurers.
  • This role demands someone who is driven, can work on their own initiative, and is comfortable managing their own pipeline of prospects.
  • Having a solid network within the insurance industry, particularly with underwriters, will be a big advantage. You’ll also need to stay updated on products and industry trends to provide the best possible advice to clients.
  • Being able to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and approach challenges with an analytical mindset will be crucial.
