Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated solicitor to join our team in the role of Data Protection, Intellectual Property, and Information Technology. As a pivotal member of our legal team, you will be responsible for advising clients on matters related to data protection compliance, intellectual property rights, and information technology law. This position is a fully remote role, occasionally needed to go into Dublin City Office. 

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients on data protection regulations, including GDPR compliance, data transfers, and privacy impact assessments.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and policies related to intellectual property rights, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
  • Counsel clients on intellectual property protection strategies, enforcement actions, and infringement disputes.
  • Advise on legal issues pertaining to information technology, such as software licensing, e-commerce, data security, and cyber incidents.
  • Conduct legal research to stay abreast of developments in data protection, intellectual property, and information technology law.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and legal proceedings related to data protection and intellectual property matters.
  • advise on a wide variety of data protection matters involving GDPR implementation and compliance
  • data breach reporting and management,
  • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act in Ireland
  • Strong understanding of the data protection legal regime and decisions in Ireland, Data Protection Commission [DPC] and the EU, Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU)  
Qualifications 
  • 1-7 year PQE in Data Protection [Irish/ Common Law Qualified]
  • Qualified solicitor with a valid practicing certificate.
  • Demonstrated experience in data protection, intellectual property, and information technology law, preferably within a reputable law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Strong understanding of GDPR and other relevant data protection regulations.
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities, with a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
