Junior Compliance Officer to join their dynamic team and support their compliance function.
Job Purpose The
Junior Compliance Officer will play a key role in supporting the Compliance Department to ensure the company operates in accordance with all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with 1 year of experience in compliance, particularly within the insurance or financial services industry.
Key Responsibilities - Regulatory Monitoring: Assist in monitoring and interpreting applicable regulations, directives, and standards affecting the insurance industry, including updates from the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Compliance Support: Aid in the implementation and maintenance of the company’s Compliance Plan, ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- AML/CTF Monitoring: Support Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) activities, including monitoring Customer Due Diligence (CDD), sanctions screening, and reporting suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
- Policy Development: Assist in the drafting, reviewing, and updating of compliance-related policies and procedures, including those related to data protection (GDPR), AML/CFT, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Compliance Reporting: Help prepare and submit regular compliance reports to senior management and the Board of Directors, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
- Internal Audits & Reviews: Participate in internal audits, compliance testing, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Training & Education: Assist in organizing and delivering training sessions on compliance, AML/CFT, and data protection to staff members, fostering a culture of compliance within the company.
- Complaint Handling: Support the investigation and resolution of complaints related to compliance or financial investigations, ensuring timely responses and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience - Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a compliance-related role, ideally within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Education: A bachelor's degree in law, finance, business, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as a Professional Certificate in Compliance or similar will be advantageous.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) regulations and Irish/EU compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, AML/CFT, Solvency II).
- IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with compliance software or tools.
- Language: Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required.
