Senior Accountant Position Description
Our client is a large Irish company who is recruiting a  Senior Financial Accountant to join their Finance Operations function. The position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work as part of a large finance team in the Accounting team.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Period close, consolidation and reconciliation activities for the group.
• Preparation of annual statutory financial statements
• Group annual and interim reports.
• Support the annual audit process, engagement with external auditors
• Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including corporate, other finance teams, business units and external auditors.
• Delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and various projects.
• Providing technical accounting support to the group.
• Monitoring accounting (IFRS), technical and commercial developments and advising on their impact on the financial close of the Group.
• Partnering with the Business on accounting-related matters.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Qualified Accountant with 2-3 year PQE with recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA)
• High level of technical accounting competency and strong analytical skills.
• Highly motivated – able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong IT skills - knowledge of SAP would be preferable.
